The County Comedy Project
Are you the funny one at work or at home? Are you not, but want to be? Join other folks in our community–your friends, neighbours, and future family– and give live comedy a try! Become funnier and more confident in this zero-to-hero live comedy bootcamp taught by Prince Edward County’s own comedy duo, Short Attention Spa.
Welcome to The County Comedy Project, where local comedy creators Lenny and Gavin will take you from first principles of form, writing and editing to final touches and stage prep for your first live comedy show!
Not only is this a great opportunity to hone comedy skills, but it’s also a supportive and welcoming environment to work on social anxiety, public speaking, and just generally being funnier in life.
This program combines practical, individual exercises with supportive, hands-on and collaborative approaches to finding your funny exploring core comedy forms:
Sketch Comedy – Do you want to write comedy sketches and SNL-style bits? Your silly ideas will journey from page to stage as you unpack the comedy devices that can take your written scenes to a hilarious level!
Stand-up Comedy – Ready to stand and deliver in the solo spotlight? From setups to punchlines, the premise is primary. Learn to craft jokes that are true to your own point of view and your life experiences.
Improvisation – Ready for some instant collaboration? Create spontaneous scenes that are funny & fascinating. Learn tools to step out on stage with just one suggestion and create a whole show.
