Comedy Country at The CAPE makes Wednesday nights the peak of your week in Prince Edward County.

This brand-new monthly series pairs top-tier comedy acts from Toronto, Montreal, and beyond with rising local talent for unforgettable nights of live performance transforming one of the County’s most stunning venues into a midweek comedy hub. Presented by Comedy Country—PEC’s award-winning rural comedy series since 2015—these Wednesday night shows are built for comedy lovers, locals in the know, and curious visitors looking for something fresh, funny, and wildly entertaining. Big city laughs, small town charm—don’t miss it.

 

THE UNDERSTUDIES

The Understudies (Rob Knox, Megan McKeigan, Justin Skinner) are pumped to bring their brand of smart silliness to the county! The long-time troupe has performed at the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival eight times, winning the Producers’ Pick Award in 2025. They were finalists in the 2024 Sketch to the Death competition and have appeared on stage at Just for Laughs Toronto, and the Cream of Comedy Festival. They have also appeared on television on The Toronto Show, and hit up stages large and small, all in hopes of someday making their parents proud.

Get ready to get weird. For more than a decade, Toronto sketch troupe The Understudies have turned tropes upside-down with their blend of dumb, dark and just plain silly. This show will bring together some of their favourite and most beloved sketches from their years on stage.
